Specialist Support for Referring Clinicians
The pain specialist referral service at Pain Consultants provides consultant led assessment and management for patients experiencing acute, chronic, or complex pain conditions. We work closely with referring clinicians to deliver timely, evidence based care while maintaining clear communication throughout the patient’s treatment journey.
Our clinic supports clinicians when pain becomes persistent, diagnostically challenging, or no longer responds to standard management. Patients referred to our service benefit from specialist evaluation by experienced pain consultants, helping identify the underlying cause of symptoms and guiding appropriate treatment pathways.
Referrals are accepted for a wide range of conditions including spinal pain, neuropathic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pelvic pain, cancer related pain, and complex persistent pain syndromes. Where appropriate, patients may also be considered for advanced procedures available through our specialist pain treatments or further evaluation within our pain management services.
Each patient receives a comprehensive consultant assessment including review of previous investigations and clinical history. Where interventional procedures are recommended, treatments are performed using image guided techniques within a controlled clinical setting in line with current standards of practice.
We place strong emphasis on collaborative working and continuity of care. Detailed clinic letters, treatment summaries, and outcome reports are shared promptly with referring clinicians. Patients are returned to the referring doctor with clear recommendations and follow up guidance to support ongoing management.
